Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey Cup Cakes

Jack Daniels is my drank ! & What better to do than make it a cupcake? BAM! I got this recipe idea from pinterest. I tweaked the recipe a bit by making it less sweet & strong. But I will post the original recipe below if interested!

This recipe involves three parts: the batter, butter cream frosting, & drizzle. What do they all have in common? They all have Jack Daniels incorporated into them 🙂



Ingredients & Directions for Cupcake Batter:


  • 3/4 cup softened unsalted butter
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1.5 cups flour
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 & 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 4 tbsp Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey
  • 4 Tbsp Milk



  1. Beat the butter and sugar together until they combine into a thick dough-like batter (like fondant consistency)
  2. Mix in the 2 eggs. Beat until texture is creamy
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, & baking powder.
  4. While blending the batter, slowly add the dry ingredients (The batter should be sort of dry, like cookie dough or bread batter)
  5. Add in the Whiskey & Milk
  6. Blend until all ingredients are combined
  7. Line your cupcake pan with holders & add 2 tbsp of batter to each
  8. Bake in 350 degrees F for about 23 minutes or until golden brown (use a toothpick; the cakes will be done when the stick comes out clean)
  9. Take out your Jack Daniel Cupcakes and set aside to cool
  10. While cooling, work on frosting & drizzle

Ingredients & Directions for Jack Daniels Honey Buttercream Frosting:


  • 1.5 cup unsalted softened butter
  • 2.5 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey
  • 1/4 cup heavy whipping cream


  1. Blend the softened butter and powdered sugar until evenly mixed
  2. Add the vanilla extract & whiskey (If you would like a stronger taste of the whiskey, add 2.5 tsp of it)
  3. Beat until creamy
  4. While blending, slowly add the whipping cream until it turns into the consistency of your frosting liking
  5. When done, place in the fridge while making your honey whiskey drizzle

Ingredients & Directions for Jack Daniels Honey Drizzle:

Now this is where the whiskey shines & is distinct in the cupcake. Depending on your taste preference… you can adjust the amount of whiskey added to your liking


  • 1/4 cup Jack Daniels Honey Whiskey
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1.5 tbsp unsalted butter
  • pinch of salt


  1. In a sauce pan set to medium high, melt the butter and brown sugar together
  2. Add the Jack Daniels Honey whisky & the pinch of salt
  3. Mix well & allow the sauce to boil for 5 minutes
  4. When done, cool the drizzle
  5. If in a hurry.. place in a container and place in your freezer for 10 minutes
  6. After frosting your cupcakes with a spoon drizzle as much sauce over your cupcakes( DO NOT drizzle when hot or else your frosting will melt)


And there you have it! Delicious Jack Daniel Honey Whiskey Cupcakes that are great for any celebration ! Best stored in the fridge. Allow the cupcakes to sit 10 minutes outside in room temperature before serving to guests for the best outcome. And if all else fails take a shot or two of your Jack Daniels Honey Whisky 🙂
